Known for its private and unfailingly interesting rail tours, Railway Adventures has become the first Australian operator to exclusively hire the train, and will celebrate with a new tour experience next year.
Commencing in the capital of Phnom Penh on March 6, the small group tour will travel along the recently restored Royal Cambodian Railway network to Siem Reap, via Sihanoukville, Kep and Battambang.
Built in the 1930s, the historic train was once used by the former King of Cambodia and includes a privately catered dining car, a lounge car and the King's old private carriage.
Priced from $7895 per person twin share, the escorted tour includes nine-nights of quality, centrally located accommodation, with daily breakfast and many local meals - including welcome and farewell dinners with drinks.
Guests will also enjoy private use of the Chairman's Train, comprehensive excursions with local guides, a luxury charter coach with luggage transport on rail travel days and return airport transfers in Cambodia.
Those wanting to explore more of Asia by train can transfer from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City to join the Vietnam Railway Adventure, which departs on the evening of March 15.
