You can join The Senior and Traverite aboard MS Rotterdam from July 3-21 in 2024 to discover these magical places, each featuring dramatic landscapes.
Start in Amsterdam with a sightseeing tour, basking in fantastic views of 17th century buildings as you cruise through the canals. You'll also have a free day to go exploring - the wonderful Van Gogh museum and famous Rijksmuseum are good to consider.
Next, aboard MS Rotterdam for our voyage to Iceland, Norway, the Shetland Islands and Scotland. The following morning will be free to explore the wonderful facilities of the ship, before coming together as a group for welcome drinks to celebrate the beginning of our fabulous cruise.
On day six, we'll take you on a sightseeing tour of Norway's Stavanger - the "Cradle of the Vikings" - looking at one of Northern Europe's best preserved collections of wooden houses, plus Stavanger's 12th century cathedral - the only church to have retained all its original features since it was built in the Middle Ages.
The next stop is Lerwick, the only town in Shetland. We'll also visit visiting Scalloway, the former Shetland capital, taking in the Scalloway Castle built in 1600 by the tyrant Earl Patrick Stewart, plus the Scalloway Museum, which houses a special Shetland Bus exhibit, depicting the village's role in World War II. We continue through the Tingwall Valley with its Norse heritage and we will stop and see the famous Shetland ponies.
We head back to sea on day eight, where you can join us in the afternoon for a fun group game of bingo, with prizes for the winners.

We pop off the ship for our first stop Iceland, starting with a drive along the coast to Eystrahorn. The surrounding area of Lonafjordur is one of the first stops for migratory birds that have flown thousands of miles. We then continue west to the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, known as Diamond Beach with ice in the sea and on the beach, before returning to the ship.
The next morning we arrive in Akureyri, the unofficial capital of northern Iceland. Visit one of the country's most famous turf houses, built in the traditional Icelandic style of stone and turf, at Laufs, plus the Akureyri Botanical gardens that specialise in Artic plants.
Then we go to Isafjordur, stopping by the Osvor 19th century fisherman's hut, drive through Bolungarvk, and catch views of the magnificent mountains and Westfjord.
On days 12 and 13 we're in Reykjavik, Iceland's capital. Tour the Golden Circle visiting the world-famous high-temperature Geysir geothermal area with spouting springs of various formations, see where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates pull apart, and see the presidential residence and Hallgrimskirkja cathedral.
We have another day at sea before enjoying a tour of the Isle of Lewis, beginning in the historic port and Viking town of Stornoway. Learn about the Hebridean island's history and culture and visit the 5000-year-old Callanish Standing Stones, the 19th century Blackhouse, Arnol, and the 2500-year-old Carloway Broch.
On Day 16, we arrive at Inverness, near the famous Loch Ness. It is the largest Scottish loch by volume - experts say it contains more freshwater than all the lakes of England and Wales combined. Visit the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre in Drumnadrochit before making a short journey into bonnie Glen Urquhart, famous for its native woodlands and wildlife. Urquhart Castle is a magnificent 14th century castle and was one of a chain of garrisons that controlled the Great Glen.
We then spend our penultimate day aboard our ship, before arriving in Amsterdam ready for a return flight home to Australia.
The 18-night tour is priced from $9090 per person twin share ($12,290 single).
