MORE than 200 cheap ferry tickets are on offer for those wanting to cross the bay between the Victorian coastal resort towns of Queenscliff and Sorrento.
Searoad Ferries launched its $20 ferry lottery campaign on Friday, June 10. The winter campaign will run for 10 weeks and each week participants have the chance to win one of 21 return ferry tickets for $20; it's normally $160 for a return crossing by car with driver and passenger.
Searoad Ferries CEO Matt McDonald said the $lottery was inspired by Melbourne's popular theatre lottery.
"There's no such thing as an original idea," he said. "We thought it was such a great campaign and that it would work well for ferry passengers too."
To be in the draw, enter the Ferry Lottery every week on the website. The lottery draw opens every Friday during winter. Choose your preferred travel day/s and winners will be selected at random the following Thursday. Winners must contact the Searoad Ferries customer service team to redeem and pay for their $20 ferry ticket.
Searoad Ferries is a car and passenger ferry service sailing Melbourne's Port Phillip Bay between Sorrento and Queenscliff and has operated for more than 30 years. Two vessels, MV Sorrento and MV Queenscliff, connect the Great Ocean Road and the Bellarine with the Mornington Peninsula.
Spacious lounges encircled by full length windows and external observation decks allow passengers to view the coastal scenery, admire the cliff top mansions and spot dolphins all year round.
