The Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival will return from May 13-15, and organisers have announced a stellar lineup.
This year's festival will feature an impressive list of novelists, journalists, creative thinkers, artists, performers and established and emerging storytellers from the state, around the country and overseas.
Headliners for this year's event include keynote speaker Geoffrey Robertson, Jane Caro, Kathy Lette, Julia Baird, Heather Morris, Saul Griffith and Lynne McGranger.
The festival will celebrate storytelling across multiple art forms; presenting author talks, writers' workshops and networking events alongside art installations, performances and special events.
A number of international and interstate guest speakers will once again be beamed onto the Main Stage via Zoom for interactive audience sessions.
Western Australian writers including Natasha Lester, Craig Silvey, David Whish-Wilson, David Allen-Petale, Cindy Solonec and Josh Kempwill be on hand in the dedicated Readers and Writers Room for the entire festival weekend. Local children's authors Frané Lessac, Kylie Howarth, Steve Heron and Esther Krogdahl will be on hand in the free Storytelling Snug - offering interactive storytelling sessions for children.
The Festival Hub is located at the Margaret River HEART, on Wallcliffe Road, with a number of other stages and performance areas throughout the region.
Festival director Sian Baker said organisers were "delighted" to present such a broad range of talent this year.
"The program is incredibly diverse, offering readers and writers a range of exciting events in our beautiful regional setting," Sian said.
"The livestreams allow lovers of literature and writing from all over Australia and the world to join us here in Margaret River, virtually, an experience we hope they can enjoy in person at future festivals."
