Virtuoso Spanish flamenco guitarist Paco Lara is set to celebrate the release of his debut solo album with a series of live performances this year.
Paco and his ensemble will perform at Hobart's Theatre Royal on March 26, before a number of performances in Sydney, regional NSW and Melbourne later this year.
Boasting a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years in Europe and Australia, Paco's album The Andalusian Guitar features some of the finest musicians from Spain and Australia.
Paco is known for his unmistakable Jerez style, presenting flamenco guitar in all its authenticity, culture, and artistry.
He has toured internationally alongside Maestro Paco Cepero, Mercedes Ruiz and Isabel Pantoja and has also performed in flamenco fusion groups such as El Barrio and Los Delinquentes.
Apart from his skill as a formidable soloist, Paco is also renowned for his ability as an accompanist to some of flamenco's most influential singers.
The 90 minute concert will present interpretations of themes from The Andalusian Guitar, as well as guitar classics from composers including Paco de Luca, John Williams, and Chick Corea.
Paco will be joined by flamenco dancer Deya Miranda Giner, percussionist and pianist Byron Mark and second guitarist Carlito Akam for the performance.
