A CARAVAN sales website will host an online expo to encourage people to explore the great outdoors.
The Great Outdoors Expo will be presented by caravancampingsales.com.au on July 1.
The expo aims to provide a boost to the caravan sales industry and local tourism following the COVID-19 lock down.
The expo will showcase a range of the latest caravans, campervans, motorhomes, camper-trailers and other accessories,
A number of discounts and specials will also be on offer for buyers.
Perfect time for a caravan trip
The site's RV Editor Chris Fincham said interest in caravanning and other RVs had grown substantially during the pandemic.
"Overseas travel might be off the table, but Australia has amazing holiday locations right on our front doorstep," Chris said.
"Road trips are a great way to create memories, share stories, discover ancient history from the mountains to the sea and take in new horizons."
According to a survey conducted by the site, just under 39 per cent of respondents felt travel flexibility and owning a caravan was more appealing following lifting of lock down restrictions.
A total of 66.5 per cent of respondents said they had plans to go on holiday in a caravan in the next two to three months.
Popular destinations
The Kimberley, Tasmania and Queensland were listed as the three most popular destinations.
"West Australia's unspoiled Kimberley region should be on everyone's post-lockdown bucket list," Chris said.
"Picture-postcard roads, world-heritage listed wilderness regions such as Cradle Mountain and historic Hobart are just a few of Tassie's gems."
"And for a family adventure, from Gold Coast theme parks and fashionable Noosa, to whale watching in Hervey Bay and crocodile cruises along the Daintree River, Queensland is a perfect choice,"
