GET your walking shoes on - Tasmania has a new holiday for avid adventurers.
The Great Tasmanian Traverse takes travellers along the entire length of the Apple Isle across 39 big days.
Launched by specialist walking operator Tasmanian Expeditions, the route combines some of the state's most popular adventures including Penguin to Cradle, the Overland Track, Frenchmans Cap Trek, Franklin River rafting and the South Coast Track.
The operator's field manager Scott O'Leary said the traverse will explore some of the state's more remote areas.
"Highlights of the adventure include a week rafting down the iconic Franklin River, trekking in Tasmania's pristine world heritage regions, a memorable scenic flight over the West Coast and Southwest World Heritage area and a transfer to Strahan on the famous Stormbreaker yacht," Mr O'Leary said.
The fully guided trip leaves Launceston on February 18, 2018 and finished in Hobart March 27.
Interested? The tour costs $12,890 per person including all accommodation, camping and rafting equipment, meals, food drops and professional guides.
But beginners be warned - this adventure is best suited to experienced hikers.
