THE Katrina Dawson Foundation and Huma Charity Challenge will hold a guided walk along the Larapinta Trail in central Australia in May.
The walk will raise awareness of, and funds for, the foundation established in honour of the late Katrina Dawson, who was tragically killed in Sydney's Lindt Cafe siege in 2014.
The foundation was established by Katrina's family and former Governor General Dame Quentin Bryce.
Participants who sign up for the five-day challenge, from May 8-12, have in fact two challenges: to raise a minimum $1000 for the foundation and to complete the Larapinta Trail Challenge.
They will spend three days walking along the most spectacular sections of the trail with outdoor educator and adventurer Edwina Parsons
The trip costs $1835 per person (departing from Alice Springs) plus a $200 non-refundable registration fee. Accommodation will be in semi-permanent campsites with safari-style sleeping tents, hot showers and cooked meals
