Vocal powerhouse Casey Donovan will don the habit when new musical Sister Act heads to Sydney and Melbourne this year.
The musical adaptation of the hit film starring Whoopi Goldberg will be at Sydney's Capitol Theatre from August 6-September 22, and Melbourne's Regent Theatre from November 3-December 15.
The show follows disco diva Deloris, whose life takes a surprising turn after she witnesses a murder and is placed under protective custody in a convent.
Encouraged to help the struggling choir, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their true voices, and unexpectedly rediscovers her own.
While she never expected to be putting on a habit, Donovan said she was excited to take on the role made famous by Goldberg in the hit film.
"Growing up, Sister Act was one of the movies that I watched on repeat," she said.
"I love the film and am truly honoured to be part of such an uplifting, joyful, fun and feel-good production."
The show features original music by Tony and Oscar award-winning composer Alan Menken, who penned an exciting bunch of songs inspired by Motown, soul and disco.
With a book by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner, the show was nominated for five Tony Awards, and six Olivier awards.
