The Daffodil Dip is a 400-metre dip, paddle, or swim around the 'goldie' daffodil buoy, or non-swimmers can just dip in the safety zone and still be a part of the fun.
The first Daffodil Dip took place at Terrigal Beach on Easter Saturday 2023, with a turnout of more than 300 people wearing their fabulous yellow daffodil swim caps.
Cancer Council uses the daffodil as the symbol of hope so by filling Terrigal Beach with daffodils, participants wanted to create an ocean of hope for cancer patients and their families.
One of the swimmers was The Seniors' Anne Bowles who said Cancer Council NSW - Central Coast partnered with Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club to run the event as part of their existing annual event the Terrigal Ocean Swim Classic.
"We received major sponsorship from Crowne Plaza Terrigal to purchase the caps, and additional support for the event from Breakers Country Club which meant that 100 per cent of the $35 registrations was donated to Cancer Council," she said.

"We raised $21,000 to support our local services for cancer patients and their families here on the coast.
"It was such a fantastic day, people and their yellow daffodil caps were everywhere, the mood was fantastic, lots of cheering and happy faces in the water.
"It was a day of celebration and we could not be happier with the turnout or the atmosphere of the event."
