South Australia is bringing all things from la dolce vita Down Under for 10 days with the Adelaide Italian Festival.
Kicking off on Friday, November 10, the festival celebrates world-class Italian food and wine, art, fashion, culture, music, and traditions.
Festival chair Tania Milohis is thrilled with this year's program and can't wait to share la dolce vita with everyone.
"Our vision for the festival is to invite people of all backgrounds to immerse themselves into Italian culture," she said.
"Our aim is to transform Adelaide into little Italy for ten days and we want to give people an experience and memories with a classic Italian flavour."
Everyone is encouraged to pop down to Adelaide's East End for the opening night, which will emulate the alleyways and al fresco dining experience of Italy.
Among the events in this year's festival are The Grape Escape, a fun-filled day in the sun visiting stunning McLaren Vale; Il Viaggio at Nazareth College, a migration exhibition featuring migration stories and keynote speakers from different generations; The Marriage of Figaro by State Opera South Australia; and Nonna's Flea Market at Fogolar Furlan (see The Senior's article here).
On top of these, there are the Journey Mass at St Francis Xavier's Cathedral to honour the state's Italian migrants; Autoclassica, an all-Italian car and motorbike show that will take over the Festival Plaza for all to enjoy; Italian Cuisine with Altitude, showcasing food and entertainment from the north-east of Italy; La Settimana Della Cucina Italiana, a week dedicated to highlighting Italian cuisine; and many more.
Free printed copies of the full program will be available at all Romeo's Supermarkets across Adelaide.
The program and all ticket information are also available to view online here.
The Adelaide Italian Festival will run from 10-19 November 2023.
Saluti!
