It offers a unique opportunity for participants and audiences to engage in dialogues that explore the intersections of craft, cultural expression and modernity.
Highlights include the Cultural Confluence which brings together craft artists and artisans from the diverse countries and communities bordering the Indian Ocean.
At the heart of IOTA is an exemplary display of selected works by 30-plus craft artists and groups from seven countries in its international exhibition.
In 2024, the theme is Codes in Parallel, exploring the multi-various languages inherent in craft and will be hosted by Fremantle Arts Centre, John Curtin Gallery and Holmes a Court Gallery in Perth.
Leading experts, scholars and practitioners come together physically and virtually from across the globe to discuss the evolving landscape of craft, art, and culture.
This learning exchange, hosted in partnership with Curtin University, contributes to a broader understanding of the significance, progress, and issues of craft-making in contemporary society. Call for Submissions closes 31 October 2023.
