OLD birds make the the nest broth, it is sometimes said - and Railway Adventures has cooked up something special for lovers of classic 20th Century aircraft.
It is taking transport buffs to Temora Aviation Museum for Showcase, a flying display of some of the greatest vintage aircraft to take to our skies.
The show is the climax of Wings and Wheels, a seven-day tour aboard a retro-restored 631/731 railmotor, leaving Sydney on April 4, 2024.
As well has having front-row seats at the show, guests will be able to explore the excellent museum and have lunch either at the show or in town.
Coaches will be on hand to shuttle tour members to and from the CBD and, if they wish, the Temora Rural Museum, which has a great collection of historic artefacts.
The tour will also visit the historic collections in their original WWII hangars at Parkes and Narromine.
Other stops include Parkes Motor Museum and the McFeeters Motor Museum in Forbes, Bathurst's railway and motor museums, and the Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum.

Heading to Junee, there is the split track at Frampton, the future junction of the Inland Rail at Ilabo and the famous Bethungra Spiral, which uses a series of loops, tunnels and overpasses to descend the ranges.
Junee is very much a railway town and has preserved many of its historic buildings and much of its infrastructure. This includes the Railway Refreshment Room and the Junee Roundhouse and Museum
On the return leg to Sydney, lunch is hosted in the lavish surrounds of Abercrombie House, a veritable baronial castle.
In the afternoon there is the option to visit the Motor Museum and Fossil and Mineral Museum or take a tour out to Mayfield Gardens, one of the country's most extensive private high-country gardens created with great detail and expense in the English style.
Throughout the tour, guests have will exclusive use of the railmotor, which has its own onboard bar and extra seats.
