The long term supporter of the national broadcaster campaigned for the ABC to remain strong, independent and well funded for more than 25 years through her role with the ABC Friends NSW and ACT committee.
In that time, she served as the committee's honorary secretary, membership secretary and assistant editor of the ABC national newsletter Update.

Since stepping down from these roles, Angela remains an active member of the committee of ABC Friends' Southern Highlands Branch.
She is also a keen singer who has proudly performed the Where Would We Be Without Our ABC song.
ABC Friends is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organisation that was founded by Turramurra resident Walter Bass in 1976.
It currently boasts more than 71,000 members and supporters across Australia.
The organisation recently called for a meeting with ABC management over recent restructuring which led to the sacking of the broadcaster's national political editor Andrew Probyn, the scrapping of the ABC Arts unit and the loss of over 100 jobs.
At the ABC Friends annual winter dinner, communications minister Michelle Rowland announced the government will conduct a review of ABC and SBS funding terms and look into governance at the two broadcasters, including composition of their boards.
The meeting will take place from 11.45am-1pm at the Roseville Club, located at 64 Pacific Highway, Roseville.
Following the talk, guests are welcome to stay and join the ABC Friends for lunch (at their own cost).
