The acclaimed show will be at Sydney's Lyric Theatre from August 25, with musical theatre royalty Todd McKenney and Robyn Nevin along for the ride.
Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, the show features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman.
Set in the land of Oz, long before Dorothy and Toto walked the Yellow Brick Road with Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion and Tin Man, the show serves as an origin story for the infamous Wicked Witch of the West.
It tells the story of two young women - one is smart, fiery, misunderstood and possesses an extraordinary talent, but was born with emerald-green skin. The other is bubbly, blonde, ambitious and popular.
The two women become rivals, then friends, then the world decides to call one 'good' and the other one 'wicked'.

The production features musical staging by Wayne Cilento and direction by Joe Mantello.
It stars Courtney Monsma as Glinda and Sheridan Adams as Elphaba.
Nevin, who has performed for all of Australia's major theatre companies, in London's West End and in the US, plays the conniving and manipulative Madame Morrible.
McKenney - who has been entertaining professionally for 40 years and is perhaps best known for his starring role as Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz and as a judge on TV's Dancing With The Stars, plays the role of the Wizard.
Co-producer John Frost said he couldn't wait for the show to open in Sydney.
"There is a reason Wicked has become one of the most loved musicals of all time, with its strong characters and story, soaring melodies and stunning sets and costumes," he said.
Performance times will be 7.30pm Wednesday to Saturday, 1pm Wednesdays, 2pm Saturdays and 1pm and 6.30pm Sundays and tickets start at $79.
