It's not every day you are welcomed to your new office by former Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop, plus a stellar cast of well known faces including Hugh Jackman.
Julie's career has been thriving since she quit politics in 2019 and she has now added a new role as strategic advisor to WA company Mineral Resources, or MinRes.
The company is keen to encourage mature, experienced people to join their operation. In fact, they are urging people to reconsider retiring or come out of retirement to return to work in whatever capacity they wish, casual, part-time or on a limited basis so they can tap into and share their solid know how, knowledge and skills.
Enter Julie, 66, who stars in a just released video for new employees. It's definitely not your usual employee induction video.
"Attitude is more important than age and I have been inspired to meet some incredibly energetic and enthusiastic people around the world working into their 70s, 80s and 90s. I was honoured to serve as the Kissinger Fellow of the McCain Institute during 2021, and Dr Henry Kissinger is still writing books and giving interviews at age 99," she said.
"Mature workers have generally broad life and work experience and can bring different perspectives and skills. There are many lessons to be learned from past experience."
And Julie proves there is definitely life after politics.
Starring Julie and featuring Hugh Jackman, Kate Walsh (Grey's Anatomy, Emily in Paris), West Coast Eagles vice-captain Jeremy McGovern and Seven News Perth newsreader Rick Ardon, the video's humour and use of satire will catch the attention of new and potential employees but there is a serious message behind the content.
"I have known Hugh for many years and he is a great talent and a down to earth, charming Australian. It was a bit intimidating appearing on film alongside a Hollywood superstar," Julie said.
As Julie showcases, the new headquarters, called Walters Drive, sets a new standard for workplace wellness, with a wide range of features aimed at maximising the health and wellbeing of its team.
Julie will have a particular focus on female talent and leadership programs and will be a key contributor and guest speaker for MinRes' new Inspire pilot program for new and emerging female leaders.
"The key to attracting women is to ensure a workplace culture of respect and to reward those who perform at a high level. Recruiting women into leadership positions is important to changing company culture and MinRes aims to be an employer of choice," she said.
Julie said her role with MinRes continued her long-standing passion to support and empower women to have the opportunity to participate across the community.
"After my 20-year legal career and 20-year parliamentary career, a change in career is invigorating, as it involves new challenges and new horizons. My role as Chancellor of Australian National University and my consultancy work are both satisfying, challenging and intellectually stimulating," she said.
"I provide strategic and leadership advice and other support as needed. Mineral Resources is an exciting and dynamic Perth-based company that employs many people, and plays an important role in our economic prosperity.
"MinRes is aware of the deep wells of wisdom and experience among older workers and is keen to attract the best talent, regardless of age or background."
Walters Drive is one of only 120 buildings in the world to achieve Platinum WELL certification.
Julie takes viewers through a typical day at work, sharing insights and tips on how employees can unlock all the wellbeing benefits the new MinRes HQ in Perth has to offer so they can maximise their own health and wellness.
This features a new paradigm in workplace wellbeing, set to change the global office landscape and become the blueprint for future workplace wellness design.
Set up as its own eco-system, it's a place where you can work, eat, exercise and be in nature all in the one space.
Designed like a village it features a five star restaurant, offers take home meals for the family, a separate cafe that includes coffee from local small batch organic roasters, a gym and fitness club, family room/creche, wellness and medical centre, in-house psychologist and Head of Mental Health.
Workspaces throughout the building encourage people to work wherever they feel most productive beyond their ergonomic sit down/stand up desks, sky gardens, yoga deck, outdoor decks and more electric vehicle charging stations than any other building in Perth.
Environmental sustainability was central to the plan from the get go as the aim was to future proof the building. Quality, sustainable materials were used to create a robust design to stand the test of time.
Integration of exceptional bespoke artisan designs and furniture and collaborative indigenous artworks that feature across gallery spaces throughout the building bring a multiple layers of human centric sensibility to this epic workspace. Instead of artificial lighting, natural light floods the building and a Circadian lighting system has been installed which is designed to mimic our 24-hour internal body clock and improve focus and moods. Both indoor air and water quality has also been a big focus and is strictly regulated.
Unlike most traditional workplaces families and partners are also welcomed and encouraged to visit and use the spaces within the building, the cafe, the restaurant, the creche and wellness here.
MinRes HQ is also not restricted to just their Perth-based employees. It's for their site workers to also access when they are in Perth.
MinRes chief people officer Bronwyn Grieve said the induction video was out of the box.
"One of the things I love about working for MinRes is that we do things differently," she said. "There is a great diversity of opportunities for mature people with and without mining experience.
"Our epic Walters Drive HQ induction video is set to make a splash with new starters of all ages but particularly mature workers and that's where Julie comes in."
Ms Grieves said it was all about putting people first.
"There is a real focus on creating the right conditions for people at that stage of their life and career trajectory including our focus on wellbeing, on safe and respectful behaviours, on flexibility arrangements, like rostering options and part time opportunities and on providing top notch physical environments at our sites and offices. We very much have both a strategic and holistic approach which is designed to create the perfect landscape for people to thrive.
"Julie is a fantastic ambassador and we are harnessing that so can can help aspiring people grow in leadership. The first 15 women in our Inspire program are in training now."
