A Canberra concert will celebrate the stories of World War II's Prisoners of War.
Flowers of Peace will present The POW Requiem in Australian National University's Llewellyn Hall on October 29.
The fourth in a national concert series, the epic performance will be directed by Australian War Memorial artist in residence Christopher Latham.
The concert aims to create a deeper understanding of the stories of POWs from WWII, particularly those held captive in Asia.
Performed by Greta Bradman, Andrew Goodwin, Riley Lee, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and choirs, it will feature music by some of Australia's leading composers.
Mr Latham said the concert would cover the fall of Singapore, the war at sea in the Pacific, and the use of POW and Asian forced labourers for construction of the Thai Burma Railroad.
"It will explore local stories around the internship of Germans and Italian civilians and POWs in Australia and in particular, the Japanese breakout at Cowra," he said.
"Some of the songs from the 'Changi Songbook' will demonstrate how entertainers kept up morale along with the adaptation of works sung by the astounding Women's Vocal Orchestra of Sumatra."
The concert will also cover the heroic roles doctors and orderlies played in the conflict, Japan and Australia's post war reconciliation and much more.
The concert will take place from 1-4.15pm.
