EVERYTHING from chardonnay to cheese will be celebrated around South Australia this month with wine and food producers getting into the festival spirit.
The Adelaide Hills is home to some of Australia's best white wines, including chardonnay.
And May sees a brand-new celebration honouring this vibrant and versatile grape variety kick off in the region.
Chardonnay May will see wineries, restaurants and bottleshops offering tastings, paired dinners, promotions and other experiences.
Events include vertical tastings in cellar doors, food and wine matching in wineries and city restaurants, and masterclasses.
From May 7-16, Adelaide Food Fringe will celebrate the state's food and drink culture with a program of more than 100 events getting behind everyone from local producers and venues to multicultural communities and cultural institutions.
There will be special dinners, cultural celebrations and picnics, as well as entertaining talks, cooking classes, tastings and food trails to check out at locations around the state.
The festival kicks off with Foodbank SA's Women of Influence lunch on May 7 at Adelaide Showgrounds.
The event will feature Senator Penny Wong, ABC Radio Adelaide presenter Ali Clark and others, with all proceeds going to support the work of Foodbank SA.
