A LARGE film crew was in the NSW Central Tablelands region for five days recently filming for an upcoming Netflix series.
Pieces Of Her, due to be released in late 2021 or early 2022, will star Toni Collette and is based on a novel by the American crime writer Karin Slaughter, according to Oberon Council tourism and economic development manager Mat Webb.
"The film crew had three separate filming locations in the region," Mr Webb said.
"As our pine forest landscape provided a similar backdrop to the Northern Californian forests, and with COVID travel limitations, it was more ideal for them to shoot the scenes in NSW.
"The main shoot in our area was around Ivers Forest Road as this played host to a car crash scene.
"The crew consisted of around 170 people, so there were some positive economic impacts for the town."

Mr Webb said the Visitor Information Centre helped the group find accommodation across the region, which was limited due to the school holidays - and one of Oberon's busiest periods.
"I think 170 people were split across 15 different accommodations due to the limited availability and closure of Jenolan Caves House," Mr Webb said.
"Other than hospitality expenditure, the group utilised several local contractors to prepare the roads for the filming, which included street sweeping, earthmoving and removal and replacement of white fog posts and reflectors as these are not found on the Californian roads.
"So, all in all, a lot of local businesses benefited from the group, so we were very happy to assist."
Mr Webb said Oberon Council played a reasonably big role in the logistics and travel control plans.
"Oberon is becoming more popular with location scouts, as there have been a number of groups visiting in recent times," he said.
"Oberon Dam is regularly used in car commercials, camping and beverage commercials such as the Great Northern Beer.
"We are continuing to work with regional and state partners to encourage more groups such as Netflix to come to our region as we have so much to offer."
Karin Slaughter, the author of 18 novels, has sold more than 35 million copies of her books.
