You'll be all shook up (in a good way) when you listen to Elvis Presley tragics Lyn and Peter Davis.
The self-taught dancers, who travel Australia chasing rock 'n' roll festivals, feature in the latest episode of Life's Booming, a podcast for over-50s hosted by journalist and radio veteran James Valentine.
Chasing Elvis sees Valentine interviewing the keen swing dancers and rock 'n roll enthusiasts, who have an unrivalled passion for The King.
Lyn and Peter have been attending the Elvis Festival in Parkes for 15 years. Accompanied by Wagz their dog, the couple travel the nation in their refurbished 1986 bus, decked out in Elvis memorabilia that includes everything from a King-inspired thermometer, to a jukebox.
They let rock 'n' roll lead the way, and although COVID-19 dampened their plans to visit Graceland for the second time, Lyn and Peter have found a way to continue their travels throughout NSW and carry on their love of Elvis.
They share details of the towns they have visited, and listeners are even treated to Valentine's rendition of Jailhouse Rock.
The Life's Booming podcasts are an initiative of insurer Australian Seniors.
"Lyn and Peter's story is an uplifting tale and perfect way to end our first series, said Australian Seniors chief marketing officer Simon Hovell.
"Their story is inspiring, and their enthusiasm for travel and music makes us all want to get out there and kick off our blue suede shoes.
"We're incredibly proud of Life's Booming and the way in which it allows us to connect with our customers, particularly during COVID times where we need to hear some uplifting stories, and we look forward to starting production on series two in the coming month."
Focusing on grey nomads, Life's Booming uncovers tales of travel and adventure of Australian seniors who have set out on a life like no other.
All six episodes are available on Spotify, Google Podcast, Apple Podcast and on the Australian Seniors website.
