Travelrite International and The Senior have put together a fantastic 16-night outback Australian odyssey.
The tour, from August 14-30, 2021, will start in Longreach taking in Winton, Mt Isa, Birdsville, Innamincka, Tibooburra, Broken Hill, Port Augusta, Marree, Coober Pedy and Alice Springs.
The first two days are in Longreach where you will visit the Qantas Founders Museum. Enjoy a guided visit of the Boeing 707, Boeing 747, Super Constellation and DC-3 in the museum's new Airpark Enclosure.
In the afternoon, visit the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame, a tribute to our outback pioneers.
In Winton travellers will marvel at the fossilised footprints from a dinosaur stampede 95 million years ago.
Before heading to Mt Isa, the group will visit the Waltzing Matilda Centre, in honor of the famous poem written by Banjo Paterson in the Winton area in 1895.
We'll drop in at Walkabout Creek Hotel from the movie Crocodile Dundee before travelling through the beautiful ochre-red Selwyn Ranges.
Day five is spent travelling 685km south to Birdsville.
In Innamincka there's a visit to explorer Burke's grave and the stunning Cullyamurra Waterhole.
On the way to Tibooburra we will view the spot where the borders of NSW, Queensland and South Australia meet, as well as the famous Dingo Fence.
Broken Hill is next on the itinerary. On arrival a sightseeing tour will reveal just how fascinating this outback mining town is.
After two days in the Silver City, the party will head to Port Augusta. There will be time to enjoy an orientation trek of the city, including the Wadlata Outback Centre.
Famous for its opal mines, Coober Pedy won't disappoint as the group takes in the Old Timers Mine, its museum, machinery demonstration and opal showroom.
It's then off to Alice Springs via the Stuart Highway.
The group will take in sites of historical significance such as Anzac Hill and the Old Telegraph Station Reserve. Also on the itinerary is the West MacDonnell National Park and Simpsons Gap.
The next day the trip winds up, with travellers transferred to Alice Springs Airport for flights home.
