ADELAIDE art lovers rejoice - the David Roche Foundation Art Gallery has re-opened its doors to the public.
The gallery officially reopened its doors on June 9 and has announced an extended season of its Flowers: Passion. Pain. Nation. exhibition.
The exhibition consists of more than 80 works and explores the western art tradition of flower painting, which spans over four centuries.
It includes work ranging from the early Dutch still life artists, to contemporary artists.
Works by Australian father and daughter Hans and Nora Heysen and Australian Modernists Margaret Preston, Grace Cossington Smith, Horace Trenerry and Kathleen Sauerbier are featured.
Flowers were prominent features on a lot of the European porcelain, furniture and paintings David acquired during his lifetime.
The exhibition also includes works which have been loaned by the Art Gallery of South Australia, Carrick Hill, The Cedars and various private collections.
Tickets are $10 adult and $8 concession and will be available at the door.
Bookings are not required, but capacity will be monitored and visitors will be asked to adhere to social distancing requirements.
Fermoy House tours will remain closed until further notice.
The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am-4pm and the exhibition will be open until August 8.
