A NIGHT at the theatre may be off the cards at the moment, but a popular YouTube channel is making sure the show goes on.
YouTube's The Show Must Go On channel will bring the essence of the West End and Broadway into people's homes this weekend with a screening of The Phantom of the Opera.
Musical lovers will be able to watch the 25th anniversary production of the smash hit Andrew Lloyd Webber musical for a limited 48 hour period from 4am on Saturday April 18.
Produced by Cameron Mackintosh and inspired by the original staging by Hal Prince and Gillian Lynne, the production was staged in London's famous Royal Albert Hall.
Based on the famous novel of the same name by Gaston Leroux, the musical tells the story of the relationship between an emerging opera singer and a disturbed outcast composer who lives in a lair under the Paris Opera House.
The musical opened in London's west end in 1986 and on Broadway in 1988, winning the 1986 Olivier Award and the 1988 Tony awards for best musical.
It went on to become the second longest running musical on the West End and the longest running musical on Broadway.
Fans who wish to make a charitable donation will be able to support a variety of organisations which will be listed on the channel, including Acting for Others, Broadway Cares and Actors Benevolent Fund.
