Armidale artist and senior citizen Lorna Creagan is auctioning a painting this month - a tribute to Van Gogh - to raise money for the Rural Fire Service.
"I would love to have quite a nice little bit for the fire brigade," Mrs Creagan said. "It'll be at their discretion of what's needed in the region."
Mrs Creagan is 91, and lives at Newling Gardens. She has painted for 30 years.
This is not the first time Mrs Creagan has painted to raise money for good causes. In 2015, she held a fundraising exhibition for the victims of the Nepal earthquake, which raised about $2000. Fourteen years ago, she had an exhibition in her Goulburn home for the cathedral spire.

The painting is of a wheatfield in the style of the great Dutch artist. A metre wide by a couple of feet deep, Mrs Creagan worked on it last year while she had pneumonia for 10 months. Stuart Boggs at Gallery 126 framed the piece.
"It's an art prize, but it's really a donation to the RFS," Mrs Creagan said. "If they don't want the painting, plenty of nursing homes or schools wouldn't mind a bit of brightness on their wall."
The auction closes on January 31. Mrs Creagan doesn't know how much the painting will raise, but said a couple of people already plan to bid.
Mrs Creagan completed an associate diploma in Creative Arts and Crafts from the University of Newcastle in her early seventies.
She has won prizes at shows around New England, and has donated her paintings to Crookwell school, and churches in Goulburn, Merriwa, and Bendemeer.
Armidale radio station 2AD is also promoting the auction over the air.
