Registrations to participate in South Australia's History Festival 2020 are now open to organisations wishing to promote the state's fascinating stories, places and collections.
The festival is an opportunity for museums, archives, community and cultural organisations, universities, libraries and schools as well as churches, galleries, businesses, cemeteries, gardens, government agencies and owners of heritage places to share their stories
Taking place from May 1-3, 2020, the History Festival is exploring the theme of 'change'. The world around us is constantly undergoing change and change is also a major thread that runs through the histories we share.
From political change to social change. Changing places, changing minds, changing hearts. Change for the better; change for the worse; on a big or a small scale, and everything in between.
The 2019 History Festival program included 695 events across the state presented by approximately 408 event organisers and a total of 158,500 visitors.
History Trust of South Australia Chief Executive, Greg Mackie said he is thrilled to witness the momentum of the Festival in recent years.
"The History Festival program provides an opportunity for all South Australian's to share their passion for history, for collecting and for our unique heritage. The History Festival has become a fixture on the calendar in May, and I can't wait to see what new events and experiences our presenters organise for 2020."
