IN their 1970s heyday they were regarded as one of pop musics most inventive bands and British rockers 10cc are set to return to Australia.
The band has just performed a series of sold out shows in the UK and will return to Australian shores for the national tour in February and March.
The band, which sold over 30 million albums worldwide and scored 11 top ten hits and three number ones, will perform all of its most popular songs including Rubber Bullets, I'm Not In Love and Dreadlock Holiday.
The band achieved the rare combination of commercial, critical and creative success and can count a number of popular music figures including Chrissie Hynde, Axl Rose, The Feeling's Dan Gillespie and Sophie Ellis Bextor as fans.
Founder and songwriter Graham Gouldman will be joined by Paul Burgess - who first joined the touring band in 1973, Rick Fenn - who joined the live band in the mid 70s, Iain Hornal and Keith Hayman for the tour.
Gouldman, who was inducted into America's Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2014, promised the show would feature hit after hit.
"This is as near as you're ever going to get to hearing the perfect 10cc. It's relentless. We show no mercy," he said.
The band's current lineup has toured around the world including Ireland, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, across the UK and Europe.
It has performed at London's 65,000-capacity British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park, and sold out the Royal Albert Hall.
Gouldman - who now has over four decades of songwriting under his belt, said he put the band's enduring appeal down to the quality and individuality of the songs.
The tour will kick off in Melbourne on February 1 and will wrap up with a performance in Darwin on March 4.
