Cold case detectives hope a $250,000 reward will help solve the murder of a teenager who was selling books door-to-door when she was slain 44 years ago in north Queensland.
Catherine Pamela Graham, 18, was murdered while selling educational books in Townsville on July 29 1975, police said in a statement on Wednesday.
Ms Graham, whose body was found 18 kilometres outside the city on the Flinders Highway, died from head injuries.
She called her mother at 8.19pm the night she disappeared, telling her that she did not like the look of a man standing nearby.
Four decades later, Ms Graham's unsolved murder is being re-investigated by the Queensland Cold Case Investigation Team.
A $250,000 reward remains in place for information that leads to a conviction following an appeal for information.
Indemnity from prosecution is being offered with the reward.
