WORM farms, veggie gardens and nest boxes are just some of the topics Australia Post is encouraging primary students and stamp collectors to immerse themselves in during Stamp Collecting Month in August.
The theme - In the Garden - is a great way for youngsters to get hands-on with sustainable gardening.
The five stamps, set in a suburban garden in a temperate climate, feature native trees, shrubs and groundcover plants that don't require much water and attract helpful birds and insects.
The thriving garden scene also displays projects including building and tending to a worm farm, rainwater garden, nest box and veggie patch.
The stamps were designed by award-winning illustrator Andrew Hopgood, who has illustrated a number of children's books focused on sustainability and the environment.
The stamps and associated products are available in participating Post Offices, via mail order on 1800-331-794, and online at auspost.com.au/stamps while stocks last.
The Senior has an In the Garden prize pack (stamp pack, T-shirt, cap, promotional pack with pen, sticker, magnifying card and packet of 5 stamps, plus educational posters) to give away. To enter, simply fill in the form below.
