WITH a mouthwatering program, the Gascoyne Food Festival in Western Australia, offers plenty for food lovers to sink their teeth into.
The festival takes place near at Mount Augustus, the world's largest rock, in the Golden Outback of Western Australia east of Carnarvon from August 7 to September 7.
The festival will kick off with the Taste of Gascoyne Sunset Barbecue in Carnarvon's Civic Centre Courtyard at 5.30pm on August 7.
The family friendly event will be hosted by local chef Stuart Laws and will present some of Gascoyne's finest produce.
The Gourmet Island Escape on Dirk Hartog Island from August 8-11 offers the chance to enjoy the freshest local seafood, as well as other gourmet delicacies in one of Australia's most remote gourmet experiences.
The Long Table Lunch at Bentwaters Plantation in Carnarvon from noon on August 9 will give guests the opportunity to sample dishes prepared by some of Perth's top chefs.
At the Gascoyne Growers Market in Carnarvon's Civic Centre Courtyard from 8-11.30am on August 11 visitors can meet local producers and sample their food while enjoying live entertainment by local performers.
Lovers of art and culture can check out Sue Helmot's Frontier of Food exhibition - which explores the landscapes of Gascoyne and the people who live off the land - at Carnarvon Library and Gallery from August 9-23.
The six-course Craft Beergustation will take place from 7pm on August 17 at the Froth Craft Brewery in Exmouth. Guests will enjoy a delicious degustation menu, with each course accompanied by a locally brewed craft beer along with some great live entertainment.
The Fiesta de Quobba at Red Bluff on Quobba station on August 17 will highlight fine Spanish cuisine accompanied by sangria in a natural beach paradise.
The Fire and Froth Wooramel River Retreat on August 31 will combine two great Australian pastimes - drinking beer and enjoying a barbecue.
The festival will end with Australia's Biggest BBQ at the World's Biggest Rock event at Mt Augustus Tourist Park on September 7. There will be juicy steaks, tender ribs, local vegetables and a delicious dessert.
