HAVE you always harboured a secret desire to be a ballet dancer but never got the chance.
Well now seniors can take a free ballet class - and not just any old class - this one is with the Australian Ballet at the Sydney Opera House.
Two special classes in May have been organised by the Australian Ballet and aged care provider NurseWatch to prove that age is no barrier to trying something new and creative.
"Dance is one of those art forms which really addresses many health issues so well - in a really fun and social way," said the ballet company's head of education Katy McKeown.
NurseWatch chief executive Kate spurway said: "Just because people are older doesn't mean they shouldn't be out there doing something they love and gaining all the benefits from that at the same time."
As well as giving attendees the chance to dance the class will include the history, design and magic of the ballet production.
The classes run from 9.30-10.30am on May 8 and 9-10am on May 9 and are followed by morning tea.
