HUGH JACKMAN is returning home for an Australian tour of his stage show The Man. The Music. The Show.
The multi-talented Australian performer announced the dates at a special event at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Sydney on Monday.
The Golden Globe, Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer is bringing his biggest show yet to Australia, after playing 49 shows in arenas across Europe and North America.
Accompanied by a live orchestra, the show will see Jackman, 50, perform hit songs from The Greatest Showman, Les Misérables and more from Broadway and film, accompanied by a live orchestra.
He will be joined on the Australian tour by actress and singer Keala Settle who will perform the song This Is Me from The Greatest Showman and more.
Jackman is as successful on stage in front of live crowds as he is on film. From his award-winning turn on Broadway as the 1970s singer/songwriter Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz, to his metal claw-wielding Wolverine in the blockbuster X-Men franchise, Jackman has proven to be one of the most versatile actors of our time.
He garnered his first Academy Award nomination, for best actor, for his performance in Tom Hooper’s Les Misérables, based on the popular stage show created from Victor Hugo’s famous novel of the same name.
His standout performance as protagonist Jean Valjean also earned him a Golden Globe Award for best actor in a comedy/musical.
Most recently he gained critical acclaim for his role as P.T. Barnum in The Greatest Showman.
Before he was Wolverine, Jackman spent his early career working in theatre and musicals, scoring an Olivier Award nomination for his performance in Oklahoma! at London's National Theatre in 1998. He later won Helpmann and Tony Awards for his role in The Boy From Oz.
He previously toured a similar "mixed bag" show titled Broadway To Oz around Australia in 2015.
