ARE you ready to relive the 1969 Summer of Love with a tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary Woodstock Music Festival?
Australian rock historian Glenn A Baker will lead a tour marking the occasion when some of the greatest rock bands of the 20th century took to the stage at Woodstock.
About a million people jammed into Max Yasgur’s dairy farm for a three-day music festival billed as “An Aquarian experience: Three days of Peace and Music”.
The 19-day tour departs Australia on August 7 for San Francisco, the heart of the 1967 Summer of Love.
The group will visit sites made famous by the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane and Credence Clearwater Revival.
In Los Angeles the tour will visit the Boulevard Walk of Fame and the Laurel Canyon Store made famous by The Doors, Joni Mitchell, Carole King and the Byrds.
Glenn will also take travellers to the legendary Troubadour Club where Elton John, James Taylor, The Eagles and Tom Watts performed.
In Cleveland, Ohio, the group will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock by visiting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
It will also attend the Moon Rock party to celebrate Neil Armstrong’s walk on the moon in 1969.
While in New York there will be visits to Strawberry Fields, Greenwich Village and the Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland recording studio immortalised by Led Zeppelin on their Physical Graffiti album.
With free time to explore the city the group will travel to the site of the Woodstock Festival.
The tour will also visit beautiful Golden Gate Park and travel to the attractive coastal city of Monterey.
