EXPLORING Victoria’s Bellarine region has never been easier now that Port Phillip Ferries has introduced a suite of all-inclusive day-trip packages from Melbourne’s Docklands.
Run in partnership with local operators, the packages provide a hassle-free way to discover the best local spots to wine, dine, and relax over the other side of the bay.
You can visit local vineyards to sample award-winning wines, tee off at a state-of-the-art golf facility, sip locally distilled whisky, or indulge in a six-course dining degustation aboard a historical locomotive.
The Sail, Rail and Dine with Q Train package ($169 per person) runs every Thursday. After cruising across the bay, passengers are transferred to Drysdale Station to board the Q Train for a six-course meal before being transferred to the ferry for the return journey.
The Sports Lovers Adventure Tour is a package for golf fanatics and includes transfers with Wine Wheels, a day at The Range @ Curlewis and more ($100 per person).
The Ferry, Fort and Food in Queenscliff tour includes a scenic trip, historical tour of Queenscliff Fort and lunch. at 360Q ($85 per person).
There are seven packages to choose from.
Running between Melbourne’s Docklands and Portarlington, Port Phillip Ferries operate year-round with morning and afternoon services.
The new timetable launches at the beginning of December. The new timetable allows passengers to spend five hours exploring The Bellarine if travelling on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
If travelling over the weekend, there will be four and a half hours for exploring, before catching the return ferry home.
The trip takes 80 minutes each way.
