Rock and pop legend Phil Collins has announced he is bringing his Not Dead Yet: Live! tour to Australia.
The veteran singer and drummer, 67, will take his tour across the country with dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in January and February for the Australian leg of his global comeback tour.
Collins' visit to Australia will be his first time down under in over 23 years, and comes off the back of hugely successful legs in the UK, Europe and South and Central America.
Collins, who spent a decade recording and touring with rock band Genesis in the 1970s, became a huge star in the early 80s when he released his own albums, including 1981's Face Value and 1982's Hello, I Must be Going.
Health issues, including a dislocated vertebrae in his upper neck sustained drumming on tour with Genesis, had forced his retirement in 2002.
He announced his return to music in October 2015.
“I thought I would retire quietly,” Collins said. “But thanks to the fans, my family and support from some extraordinary artists I have rediscovered my passion for music and performing.
“It’s time to do it all again and I’m excited,” he added. “It just feels right.”
Collins has sold over 280 million records, in a career spanning almost 50 years as a solo artist and a member of Genesis.
He had huge chart success with In the Air Tonight and seven Top 10 Australian singles including 'You Can’t Hurry Love', 'Against All Odds' (Take A Look At Me Now), 'One More Night' and 'A Groovy Kind Of Love'.
Tickets for the Not Dead Yet tour will be on sale from August 30 for Telstra customers, and available to the general public on September 5.
