IF A trip to China to see the 2300-year-old Terracotta Warriors isn’t possible, then head to New Zealand.
China’s ancient and much celebrated treasures are heading to Te Papa, New Zealand’s national museum in Wellington, for a four-month exhibition opening in December.
The Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality will run from December 15 to April 22.
It features eight of the famous warriors which stand 180cm tall. There will also be two full-sized horses from the terracotta army, plus two half-size replica bronze chariots, each drawn by four horses.
The cultural exchange between New Zealand and China comes as the two countries prepare to celebrate 2019 as the China-New Zealand Year of Tourism.
Tickets to Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality will be on sale from October.
