NEED FOR SPEED: Visitors are welcome to sit in the cockpit of this F-111C strike bomber, which is one of the 10 fastest aircraft models of all time and is on display at HARS Aviation Museum.
Six decades of Royal Australian Airforce aviation history will soon be on display at the Historical Aviation Restoration Society’s Aviation Museum.
Two newly refurbished former RAAF Vampire jet trainers will be exhibited at the museum’s upcoming tarmac days from September 14-16.
The two jets were built at De Havilland’s Bankstown factory in the 1950s and were in service in the 1950s and ‘60s.
The refurbished jets will join a number of military aircraft on display at the museum at the Illawarra Regional Airport, Albion Park.
The museum is open daily from 9.30am-3.30pm.
