COUPLES or friends travelling together have until February 28 to save $1000 on a new circle-Japan cruise tour timed to coincide with the spring spectacle of Japan's cherry blossoms next year.
Guests on the 18-night Springtime in Japan itinerary, hosted by Cruise Express, will travel the country by bullet train before boarding Diamond Princess for an eight-night cruise.
The tour is designed to immerse Australians in the country's rich traditions and customs, with guests joining tea ceremonies, donning kimonos, learning to make sushi and watching a sumo wrestling display.
Three bullet train rides, Mt Fuji and the neon-lit shopping frenzy of Ginza also feature in the exclusive cruise tour.
Departing Australia on April 2, 2019, the tour begins in Tokyo with an eight-night overland tour of Japan.
In Yokohama, guests board Diamond Princess for the round-trip cruise. Boasting a sushi bar and the largest Japanese bathhouse at sea, the 2670-passenger ship will call at four Japanese ports - the cherry blossom gardens of Ishinomaki, the bustling seafood markets of Hakodate in the north, the hot springs of Niigata and the active volcanoes of Kagoshima in the south.
The cruise will also take passengers to the South Korean city of Busan.
Including return flights from Australia, the cruise tour is available from $8490 per person twin share from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, and from $8790 per person twin share, from Adelaide and Perth. Fares include a $500 per person discount if booked by February 28 this year.
