GOLFERS can pack their clubs and join an eight-day cruise that combines rounds on some of the world's finest and challenging courses with a seafaring expedition of the wilds of Canada.
One Ocean Expeditions, renowned for its voyages to the Arctic and Antarctica, has added the 2018 Canada's East Coast Golf Expedition - Fiddles and Sticks - to its list of innovative voyages.
And to tee off this ultimate expedition in Nova Scotia's historic port town of Louisburg, passengers will be welcomed with dinner of fresh-caught lobster as the ship, One Ocean Navigator (Akademik Ioffe) sails past the lighthouse along the breathtaking coast of Cape Breton.
"To combine your favourite sport on some of the world's finest courses with a cruise of a truly magically scenic part of Canada has all the hallmarks of a trip of a lifetime," said One Ocean Expeditions Australia manager Richard Cunningham.
Non-golfers can enjoy sea kayaking, cycling and stand-up paddling as well as sightseeing, whale watching and wildlife photography programs.
The voyage, from June 27-July 4, 2018, will visit Prince Edward Island and smaller islands of the vast Gulf of St Lawrence.
Golf will be played at the Ben Crenshaw-designed Cabot Cliffs at Inverness, its neighbouring Cabot Links, Prince Edward Island's The Links at Crowbush, and the historic Highland Links in Ingonish, which dates back to the 1930s.
For something a little off-the-beaten-track, Quebec's tiny Magdalen Island and its L'Etang-du-Nord nine-hole course will host a round of 18 holes (nine holes played twice).
Accommodating no more than 96 passengers, the One Ocean Navigator is an ideal vessel to explore the Atlantic coastline in spacious comfort. The ship's fleet of zodiacs will enable everyone to disembark at the same time.
The eight-day golf cruise includes green fees at all courses, all meals onboard (including packed lunches on golfing days), transfers (including clubs and gear) from ship to shore and a comprehensive program for non-golfers.
Price begins at US$3395 (about A$4500) per person, triple share, and US$5695 (about A$7500) per person, twin private share. Air fares from Australia are extra.
