COUNTRY music fans are in for another big year at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, to be held over 10 days in January.
Organiser Barry Harley says ticket sales for the festival are already up on last year and more than 700 artists will perform at 2800-plus events across 120 venues.
And with the festival expected to attract 13,700 overnight visitors, fans planning to travel to the event are advised urged to book early to secure accommodation.
Headline acts will include a cast of perennial favourites and multi-award winners such as Troy Cassar-Daley, Sara Storer, Lee Kernaghan, The McClymonts, the Adam Eckersley Band and John Williamson.
Golden Guitar-winning artists Amber Lawrence, Adam Harvey and Bennett, Bowtell & Urquhart (aka BBU) will perform at West Tamworth Leagues Club during the festival.
Lawrence will bring her Cheers to Oz Australia Day Show, complete with special guests Homegrown, on the back of another successful tour.
And BBU (Kevin Bennett, Lyn Bowtell and Felicity Urquhart) will present their three-part vocal harmonies to Tamworth on January 24.
Other performers to look out for include Paul Costa and special guests Tori Darke and Ben Ransom, Darren Coggan performing The James Taylor Songbook, The Pigs, The Davidson Brothers and brother and sister duo Kaylens Rain.
The festival runs from January 19-28.
Tickets to the Golden Guitar Awards are now on sale.
Country Music Awards of Australia executive producer Peter Ross described the event as a “fast-paced concert featuring the best of Australian country music talent and the songs that have left their mark on fans over the past 12 months”. The awards will be held on January 27 at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre.
Tickets from $49.
