GET your engine running ... MotorWorld Sydney will be held at Sydney Motorsport Park in Eastern Creek on 1-4 December, with the promise of thrilling entertainment, fun activities and lots to learn.
Highlights will include The Mega Test Fest, possibly the biggest car test ever to be held.
It will offer visitors more than 7000 test drive opportunities in over 120 cars from 35 brands, among them the new Fiat Spider, Lotus Exige, Volvo V40 T5 R-Design and Jaguar XF.
To do this, would-be Jeremy Clarksons need to go online and select up to three of their favourite cars to take for a spin. If successful, they then drive these vehicles on the Track Drive on the Brabham Circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park, the Dirt Drive on the undulating gravel track, or the Street Drive on the freeways and suburban roads of the street circuit around Eastern Creek.
All this is included in the entry ticket price.
Highlights include:
- The Jaguar Art of Performance Tour Smart Cone Challenge, where visitors will experience the performance of the latest range of Jaguars on road, track and dirt, before putting the F-Type and XE through their paces around a computer-controlled course.
- The Land Rover Twin Terrapod, where the team will drive you up an incredibly steep incline and then down an equally confronting descent, demonstrating the versatility of the vehicles.
- The BMW Motorrad, a two-day off-road training course.
- All-terrain vehicle testing on a dedicated track near.
- A caravan parking test, a chance for visitors to learn how to reverse into a tight spot
- The Motorkhana Challenge, where you can prove their talents at navigating obstacles, emergency braking and swerving
- Passenger rides in 4WD vehicles and ATVs on the challenging 4×4 Track, where steep inclines, impossible obstacles and scary drops will be navigated by experts in the latest off-road vehicles
Other events will include The Grid Club, the festival's VIP venue, where guests will hob-nob with professional drivers, revel in live entertainment and gain priority access to unique Sports Car Super Sessions and test drive opportunities.
At the Sports Car Super Session, meanwhile, visitors will have the opportunity to hop into some of the fastest cars on wheels to test their mettle or accompany a professional driver to see how it is really done.
The most desirable cars will be presented in the Exotic Zone, a dedicated marquee showcasing the stuff that dreams are made of.Lamborghini, Lotus and Jaguar will have their top of the range on show, while Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche, Corvette, Aston Martin and more will also be represented.
And don't forget the car clubs, more than 20 of which will attend, presenting their stunning cars and striving to win over the judges for the Best Dressed Car Club award.
For families there will be the biggest Scalextric replica of Brabham Circuit, where guests will have the opportunity to race their favourite model cars.
Kids will have the chance to go off-road on a BMW pushbike under the eyes of instructors and show they know the road rules.
The Electric Bike display will give guests the chance to learn all about the new assisted-pedal technology and do a few training laps.
At the Open Air Cinema car-themed movies will be shown on the big screen.
The Dream Ride Twilight Concert will showcase a range of talented artists who live with an intellectual disability.
Ticket prices include three test drives, rides, entertainment activities, open air cinema, concerts and parking.
Day tickets are $42-$49 for adults and $25-$29 for concessions and children. A two-day pass is $85 and $50, respectively. A one-day premium ticket package is $290.
