COMEDIAN Jerry Seinfeld has announced a 2017 Australian tour.
Seinfeld is bringing his live stand-up show filled with his trademark humour, wit and daily life observations to Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne next August.
It's the first time he has performed in Australia since 1998.
Seinfeld said he was excited about performing in the country again.
"Australia may be far in miles but I feel very close to the people because of our mutual comedy connection," he said.
The performer is best known for his sitcom about nothing Seinfeld. The show ran for nine seasons and is considered to be the most successful comedy series in television history.
He has also starred in, written and produced movies including Comedian and Bee Movie as well as Broadway musicals.
His latest project is web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
Seinfeld's Australian tour kicks off at Perth Arena on August 4 before heading to Adelaide Entertainment Centre on August 5, Melbourne Hisense Arena on August 6, Brisbane Entertainment Centre on August 9 and ICC Sydney Theatre August 11.
