Celebrating its 56th anniversary in 2016, the Festival is the largest annual event in New South Wales south of Sydney attracting over 38,000 visitors.
Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is recognised as the peak awareness, advocacy and fundraising organisation for brain cancer in Australia.
“The partnership with the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation will ensure that the 2016 Tulip Time Festival continues to be positioned as one of regional Australia’s ‘must attend’ community and tourism springtime events, as well as greatly assisting our efforts to ensure the festivals sustainability and attractiveness as a regional event" said Wingecarribee Council Manager Tourism & Events, Steve Rosa.
“We are thrilled to partner with this bold and bright award-winning floral festival that springs to life in the heart of the Southern Highlands," said Chief Executive Officer at Cure Brain Cancer Foundation Catherine Stace.
"Cure Brain Cancer is challenging the status quo of brain cancer and helping to drive the biggest ever push to bring quality clinical trials to Australia. This has the potential to radically change outcomes for patients. But research needs funding and awareness through events like Tulip Time assisting to propel us closer to increasing the survival rate of brain cancer and accelerating lifesaving treatments for patients.”
The Festivals central colour theme will be purple with the cue taken from the Cure Brain Cancer’s icon the Crane, being a representation of the courage shown by their fundraising community. The community and businesses of the Southern Highlands are encouraged to adorn the streets, shop fronts and gardens in a wash of purple for the duration of this year’s festival.
