Last year the city was draped in 110 km of fairy lights, including a spectacular 51-metre tunnel, in a world record attempt at creating the planet’s largest LED light display raising money for SIDS and Kids ACT.
This year the organisation will attempt to set a record for the most lights on an artificial Christmas tree.
Other festival attractions will include night markets, family concerts, camels and furry and feathered friends, competitions, art and music, a polar bar and visits from Santa Claus.
For the children, there will be a petting zoo, an ice castle and plenty of fun activities. The festival will run from November 27 to December 31. n
