GOT some old gum boots or shoes - don't throw them out. Let the kids or the grandies fill them with potting mix and plant some seedlings or sow some flower or herb seeds.

Before long you could have a whole 'shoe cupboard' full of colourful fun.
Don't forget to cut or drill some holes in the bottom of the boot to allow for drainage and keep them well watered as they can dry out quickly.
