This is a good month to plant tropical fruit trees and vines - nurseries carry a wide variety so there's plenty to choose from.
The best climates to grow tropical fruits are of course the sub tropical, temperate and warm coastal areas with long warm growing seasons, however, in a sheltered microclimate you can grow these fruits trees as far south as Melbourne.
Incorporate handfuls of Yates Dynamic Lifter organic plant food to enrich the soil prior to planting.
Many fruit plants are beautifully ornamental as well as productive, so consider using feijoa as a hedge, coffee for screening, macadamia for privacy or mango and avocado tree to provide valuable shade.
Fast growing banana plants with from two to eight metres high and under good conditions will crop in 15 months.
Most tropical fruit need liberal watering and regular applications of an organic based fertiliser like Yates Dynamic Lifter Plus Fruit Food which is fortified with extra nutrients for abundant fruit.
