The festival, from October 4-11, will feature a fantastic array of social, cultural, body and soul activities. It offers seniors the opportunity to take part in more than 1300 mainly free or low-cost events throughout the state during the month.
Hundreds of events will be presented by local councils, covering cultural and social activities, come-and-try and active living events, tours and exhibitions, workshops, learning and craft events, and open days.
“We’ve planned this year’s program so that it features a fantastic array of cultural, informative, body and soul and entertainment activities,” said Minister for Ageing Martin Foley.
“There will be something for every senior who is looking to get out, meet some friends or make some new ones.
“Research from around the world confirms that, as we age, participation and community involvement are all vital to health, wellbeing and connectedness.”
Mr Foley encourages seniors to grab a program, search by type of activity or location, and join in the celebrations.
