THE weather is warming and school holidays are only a couple of days away.... both facts bring to mind the importance of pool and water safety.
Many grandparents, aunts and uncles and other family members and friends have little ones over during the holidays and at weekends so pool safety is paramount.
Remember to check the pool gate and latch to make sure it securely locks, check the fence for gaps or loose screws and bolts, make sure there are no trees or anything else by the fence that children could use to climb into the pool area and secure chemicals in a locked cabinet.
Electricity and water don't mix so make sure you have an RCD or RCCB on your power supply and ensure you have a first aid and resuscitation qualification.
Children should be supervised at all times when around water - even in the bath tub.
