AUSTRALIAN fashion designer and business woman Carla Zampatti celebrates 50 years in the fashion industry with a gala event at the National Gallery of Victoria International on September 22.

Beginning in 1965, Carla Zampatti soon established a loyal following for her streamlined designs with an emphasis on tailoring. Women were moving in to the workforce and the growing momentum of the women's liberation movement was the perfect timing for women looking for a new wardrobe to represent the times.
In a coup for the NGV, Carla will donate a selection of archival pieces from the past 50 years to the gallery's renowned Australian Fashion and Textiles collection.
Guests will be entertained with a fashion show of the designer's spring/summer 2015 collection. The show will culminate with a series of fashion vignettes from the Sydney Dance Company,
The gala evening will take place on September 22 in the Great Hall, NGV International, at 6.30pm. Tickets are $95 per person and include champagne and canapes.
