In 18th Century Venice two very popular gondoliers, Marco and Guiseppe, must disappoint their new brides Tessa and Gianette when they discover that they are brothers, and one of them is a king promised in childhood to Casilda, daughter of the Duke of Plaza Toro.
Casilda, meanwhile, is secretly in love with the commoner Luiz, who serves as valet to her parents
Enter the mysterious Grand Inquisitor Don Alhambra who thinks he can sort it out.
The Gondoliers is a singing, dancing masterpiece of musical merriment and will star Dean Sinclair, Michael Bond, Anne-Louise Finlayson and Minh Huynh.
It will play from September 25 to October 3 at the Smith Auditorium Lyric Theatre, Shore School, William St North Sydney.
