Wandering the World co-founder Jane Reed will escort a 13-day Jewels of Northern India tour, staying in grand hotels and authentic heritage accommodation.
The tour begins in Delhi on January 12 and includes two nights in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur. It also spends time in magnificently restored properties in the beautiful but lesser known villages of Kaurali and Shahpura.
The journey offers some wonderful experiences such as a Jeep safari into the heart of rural India, a local cuisine cooking class and dinner with a local family.
The tour will have a maximum of 10 travellers. It is priced from $6345 per person twin share plus $360 per person for internal flights. International airfares are extra.
Wandering the World, which specialises in creating and tailoring exceptional walking, trekking and touring holidays, was started by Jane Reed and Glenyce Johnson.
The women, who formerly worked with Peregrine Adventures, have travelled to more than 100 countries. They wanted to start a business that would offer rich, authentic travelling experiences and take people to places they had not thought about before.
“Our itineraries are really focused on immersing travellers in the local culture and uncovering the hidden gems of a destination,” Jane said. In September 2016 Jane will lead a 15-day 260km walk, the Portuguese Coastal Way or Camino da Costa, a stunning alternative route to the Portuguese Camino de Santiago.
